BULLETSTORM - Mediafire

BULLETSTORM

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: People Can Fly
Genre: Sci-Fi First-Person Shooter
Release Date: Feb 22, 2011 (US)(more)
ESRB: MATURE
ESRB Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Partial Nudity, Strong Language, Use of Alcohol, Sexual Themes
Hoster: Mediafire

In a genre where space marines are so popular, Bulletstorm gives you space pirates. In a genre where gray wastelands are so big, Bulletstorm is a vibrant swirl of colors. And in a genre where headshots are so critical, well, they're also a pretty big deal in Bulletstorm. Some things just don't change.

Nonetheless, Bulletstorm has all the makings of a rather unique first-person shooter. The game is being developed by People Can Fly (now a wholly owned subsidiary of Epic Games), the developer behind the charmingly ridiculous PC shooter Painkiller. Right off the bat, Bulletstorm gives off shades of Gears of War crossed with Borderlands. There's Gears for its gritty sci-fi setting and gruff cast of characters and Borderlands for the general eccentricity that encompasses everything going on--right on down to the fountains of text that erupt from downed enemies.

The character at the center of the plot is one Grayson Hunt, a former mercenary who's had a bit of a falling out with his former employer and, as a result, has been exiled to the farthest reaches of space. One crash landing later and Hunt finds himself on a deep space resort planet known as Stigya. At one point, this place was the Las Vegas of planets: a remote getaway designed solely for the pleasure of its visitors. But as things tend to go in sci-fi stories, a catastrophic event has occurred that's rendered Stigya the polar opposite of a paradise. Its denizens have either died or become feral monsters, and a mysterious overgrowth of mutated plant life has dotted the landscape with giant cacti and tangled vegetation.

This dangerous and twisted world surrounds Grayson, but fortunately, his fighting style is pretty dangerous and twisted in its own right. It's a good thing, too: Bulletstorm is a game that rewards creatively killing your enemies. Combat runs on a loop where you get more points for killing enemies as elaborately as you can--displayed as in-game text coming from dead foes--and then use those points to upgrade and unlock weaponry that allows for further insanity. In gameplay terms, this means that shooting an enemy in his "special place" and then kicking him into a giant cactus while he clutches himself in agony makes for a quicker route to that new grenade launcher than simply shooting him dead.

Grayson starts off with a fairly standard weapon--an assault rifle lovingly referred to as "the peacemaker." With time, you'll unlock guns from further along the spectrum of ridiculousness. One example we were shown was the "flail gun." This one shoots two grenades simultaneously, which in and of itself is obviously nothing special. However, these grenades are chained together, making the grenades capable of latching onto objects (or people) in some pretty interesting ways. You might shoot it at a lamppost near a group of enemies and trigger the explosion remotely when the poor guys come running around the corner. But if you want to be more twisted, you can shoot the chained grenades right at an enemy's head and watch as the two tethered explosives wrap around his neck. We'll let you use your imagination to picture what happens from there.

Regardless of which gun you're carrying, the real heart of your arsenal is a pair of always-there abilities that allow you to toy with enemies as a cat would torment a mouse. At any moment, you can latch onto far-off foes and pull them toward you with a tool called the leash, which behaves a lot like Just Cause 2's grapple hook minus the ability to transport yourself. For knocking enemies back, you can both kick and slide into them. Both these melee attacks put enemies into slow motion for a second or two--think of it as bullet time in a bubble--which leaves them defenseless for your next move. The demo Epic showed us was a whirlwind of stunned enemies, headshots, groin shots, cactus impalements, missing limbs, and more--all of which came before the boss fight against a 50-foot plant monster.

All of this amounts to a game that moves at a very frenetic pace. Adding to the general sense of chaos during these fights is the character dialogue. Quips and one-liners seem to come fast and often, with the game's central cast tossing barbs at one another seemingly as often as they toss grenades. Some of it was fairly cringeworthy, but we're told that Grayson starts the game as a rather unlikable drunken space pirate and gradually becomes more of a well-rounded character as the game continues. Fortunately, the game's visuals are likable right off the bat, with extensive use of colors and great lighting effects painting Bulletstorm's world in a very interesting way.

Right now, Bulletstorm is scheduled for release in 2011. We'll have more on this slightly insane first-person shooter at the Electronic Entertainment Expo, so stay tuned.

DEAD SPACE 2 - PS3 - MDIAFIRE

DEAD SPACE 2

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Visceral Games
Genre: Sci-Fi Shooter
Release Date: Jan 25, 2011
ESRB: MATURE
ESRB Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language
Hoster: Mediafire

Isaac Clarke, the unluckiest space engineer of the 26th century, is more unfortunate than ever in Dead Space 2. 2008's superb Dead Space took the style of survival horror shooter action exemplified by games like Resident Evil 4 and meshed it with an atmospheric deep-space setting and some terrific, distinctly sci-fi gameplay elements, creating something that felt simultaneously familiar and unique. Dead Space 2, on the other hand, will feel thoroughly familiar to those who have played the original; its few improvements over Dead Space are minor tweaks rather than game changers. But blasting the limbs off of hideous necromorphs remains tremendously satisfying, and although the pacing lags a bit during the game's middle portions, this second outing packs more than enough scares and surprises to make stepping back into Isaac Clarke's suit extremely worthwhile. In addition, a new multiplayer component successfully translates Dead Space's particular breed of dismemberment-focused combat into a pulse-pounding team-based experience that casts you as both humans and as the foul necromorphs. And, at least at the time of release, the PlayStation 3 version includes a hefty bonus: the great on-rails shooter Dead Space Extraction (previously a Wii exclusive), at no additional cost. As long as you've got the stomach for it, Dead Space 2 is one sci-fi horror thrill ride you definitely want to take.

The first few moments of Dead Space 2 smartly accomplish a good deal in a very short amount of time. We get a glimpse into Isaac's psychological state, his psyche still tormented by the painful loss he experienced on the Ishimura during the events of the first game. We also learn that the three years since then have been little more than a blur to Isaac--he's in some kind of hospital facility, but has only the vaguest memories of his time there. And almost before you can say "necromorph outbreak," you take control of Isaac as he runs for his life from the hideous creatures who, for reasons that aren't immediately clear, have suddenly appeared and started slaughtering the human population here in the Sprawl, a vast urban area on Titan, Saturn's largest moon. Isaac, who said not a word in the original game, has a voice here, and although he's a bit bland as a character, the intensity of the action that surrounds him makes you feel invested in his desperate struggle for survival. Revealing glimpses into the world of Dead Space--such as a trek through a Unitology center that sheds light on the inner workings of the church whose activity is inextricably linked to the necromorph outbreaks--keep the momentum rolling during the early chapters. The game later falls into predictable rhythms for a while, but it picks up steam again toward the end, as the story goes to some unexpected and exciting places and puts almost as much emphasis on Isaac's struggle against his own demons of guilt and regret as on his battles against the necromorphs.

But those battles against the hideous undead mutations remain front and center, where they belong. The key to dropping necromorphs is still blasting off their often frighteningly pointy limbs, which you do with a number of repurposed mining tools and a few actual guns, all of which feel powerful and are immensely fun to use. All of the weapons from Dead Space return in this sequel, including the plasma cutter and the line gun, which fire beams of energy capable of slicing necromorph limbs clean off. Another returning weapon is the ripper, a terrific tool whose spinning blade can result in a noisy, grisly end to necromorphs who make the mistake of getting too close to you. And there are a few new weapons as well: the detonator lets you place laser-triggered trip mines to set explosive traps for approaching necromorphs, and the javelin gun fires spikes at such a tremendous velocity that any necromorph unfortunate enough to be in their path is likely to find itself impaled to a wall.

Dead Space 2 Full Version - Mediafire

Dead Space 2

ESRB: MATURE
ESRB Descriptors: Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language

is an amazing game. I'm going to write about its scary moments, cool kills, and how much I dig the main character's internal struggle, but Dead Space 2 is about more than this. When I beat it for the first time, I sat on the couch with my heart racing and dissected the journey I had just taken. Then, I started my second playthrough, and when that was done, I jumped into a new game for the third time. Dead Space 2 is just that good.

It's been three years since the events of the first game, but protagonist Isaac Clarke still can't catch a break. At the beginning of Dead Space 2, he wakes on a space station known as the Sprawl and finds the place is overwhelmed by an outbreak of reanimated corpses called Necromorphs. From the very first moment of the game, Isaac's fighting for his life.

This is where you come in. As Isaac, you'll pick up your plasma cutter, don an engineering suit and take the fight to the beasts out to kill you. The overarching goal is to find and destroy the religious idol (known as the Marker) causing all of this, but the story that makes Dead Space 2 great is the internal war Isaac's fighting. Unlike Uncharted's Nathan Drake who can kill a few hundred pirates and never seem worn down by it, Isaac is totally ruined by the events of the original Dead Space. He saw things no man should have to during his time on the spaceship USG Ishimura, but it's the fact that Isaac's girlfriend died on the vessel after he encouraged her to work there that really haunts him.

Isaac's losing his mind in Dead Space 2. The guilt is tearing his very sanity apart. That's heavy stuff and it makes for a really engaging story. Isaac doesn't let anyone else in on the fact that he's coming unglued, so as a player I get to see who he really is and the facade he presents to the other characters. Isaac's internal conversations and hallucinations are among my favorite parts of this game.

But I have lots of favorite parts to Dead Space 2. Right behind Isaac's struggle on my list of cool stuff is the combat. It's more satisfying than it was in the original. Isaac's fast and light on his feet. You can stomp crates in a jiff and melee attack bodies for loot, grabbing things with your telekinesis is responsive, and mixing all of this together with the different weapons in the game is a blast. Slowing down a Necromorph, blowing off its arm, and using the severed limb to impale the foe on a wall is a thing of beauty that doesn't get old.

Dead Space 2 is pretty much the best haunted house attraction ever. Visceral stripped out the stuff that slowed down the original game (backtracking, getting disoriented, etc.) and ended up with a fast-paced game that's suspenseful and scary at the same time. You're funneled down these halls and corridors on your way from Point A to Point B, and ghouls pop out for you to blast. I know that "linear" is a bad word in the video game industry, but the package is so well done here that I can't knock Dead Space 2 for taking me on a very specific ride that's marked by awesome moments, environments that range from a cheery schoolhouse to pitch black rooms, and sound that's so well done I'd find myself trying to figure out if it was a monster making its move or my dog rummaging in the living room. Toss in some new disturbing enemies and surprises I won't ruin for you and you have a game that can feel like "the same old thing" at times but becomes much more than that as a whole.

I've already said that I've played the game over and over, so it's important to point out that no ride needs to be the same. Dead Space packs returning weapons such as the saw blade-spitting Ripper as well as brand new items like the Detonator and its trip mines. Each of these weapons -- along with your suit, telekinesis and stasis module -- can be upgraded for maximum ass-kicking, and then the progress can be saved and carried over to your next playthrough. These options and rewards are what kept me wanting to come back. There are tons of new suits (with new bonuses) to unlock and I always wanted to see what my next pimped-out weapon could do.

Electronic Arts unveiled a new game this morning that seems to blend the best of LittleBigPlanet's level creation with Scribblenauts' imagination and puzzle solving.
Create, due out this November for the Mac, Playstation 3, PC, Wii and Xbox 360, has players creating levels, designing and solving puzzles in a free-form open world.
"Create uses families' imaginations to develop new ways to play together that are both fun and challenging," said Harvey Elliott, VP and General Manager at EA Bright Light. "We wanted to design a game where the entire family can explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong and the only limit is the imagination."
The game appears to be broken down into level-based challenges and open-world design spaces. The more levels a player completes, the more rewards, like brushes, tools, textures, props and animations, they unlock.

Crysis Wars

Crysis Wars

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: Crytek
Genre: Modern First-Person Shooter
Release Date: Sep 16, 2008 (US)
ESRB: MATURE
Hoster: Mediafire
pass: eagamesworld.blogspot.com

Overall, Wars is just a patch over Crysis' original multiplayer. There are many changes, and a lot of them are good changes. I shall list some now:

*A lot less hackers, and a lot better anti-hacker tools out there (SSM Aegis)
*AY69 And ASV are fabulous new additions to Multiplayer. However, the FGL40, the grenade launcher, is not wanted.
*Team Deathmatch. Need I say more?
*Even better performance.
*An Auto map download feature was created, (but it's a pain to set up) so depending on the server you join, you don't have to go offline looking for the map you want to play
*There's a ton of new maps, and Crytek adds new maps in nearly every patch.
*Speaking of patches, players are INFORMED of the patch's availability; not just that, they're forced to download and install them before they are allowed to log in, so, none of this version mismatch garbage.
*When you try to sprint while firing your weapons, they won't stop shooting anymore.
*Cloak isn't totally useless; it's now transparent instead of glowing bright purple.
*Some overall physics changes.

Yeah; that's a lot of good. Now it's time for the bad parts that we ever so hate.

*Nobody plays Powerstruggle anymore; sadness. (I still play though.)
*People now get the advantage of "God Strafing" (Strafing at lightning speed in armor mode with the ability to shoot)
*Fistfights aren't fun anymore.
*No more wall jump; Circle jump's occasional float effect was also removed.
*Too many people play TIA instead of PS.

Well, that's all folks. I recommend this game to all.

Crysis is an alien invasion game set in the year 2020. An archeological team on a remote Pacific island is captured by an invasion force of North Koreans, and your US Special Forces team is dispatched to investigate and rescue the scientists. Clad in high-tech nanosuits capable of boosting your strength, speed, and armor, as well as cloaking you temporarily to the enemy, you're parachuted into a tropical paradise that's crawling with intelligent enemies and something else that's tearing both the North Koreans and US forces to shreds.

Like Far Cry, the first half of Crysis is essentially a "sandbox" game where you're put in the middle of incredibly large levels and tasked with an objective. How you get the job done is pretty much entirely up to you, which is part of the brilliance of the game's design. For instance, the environments are big enough to give you a wide range of latitude. Do you have to get to a certain point on the map? You can take a meandering route that avoids patrols and go stealthy, or try the up-front approach and try to blast your way through, with the danger of enemy reinforcements showing up. Need to infiltrate a North Korean-held village? You can try the front gate, or maybe explore and find a quieter way in.

Couple these huge environments with the powers of the nanosuit, and you have a ton more options. You can play like the eponymous character from the movie Predator and use your cloaking abilities to stalk North Korean patrols, picking them off one by one and watching the survivors react in confusion. That could be via a silenced rifle, or simply coming up from behind a guard and grabbing him by the throat and hurling him off a cliff, or through the roof of a building, or against a tree, or whatever catches your fancy. Enhanced speed and strength give you an amazing amount of mobility, so you can vault atop buildings and come down behind someone, or run up against a North Korean vehicle next to a cliff and push it over the side. In a heartbeat you can switch between different roles, from stealthy assassin to seemingly unstoppable death dealer. It's a game that makes you feel like a superhero, though not an invincible one, because you simply can't run roughshod over the enemy. Crysis rewards smart, fast thinking.

The Sims 3 Late Night-RELOADED

The Sims 3 Late Night-RELOADED

Publisher: Electronic Arts
Developer: The Sims Studio
Genre: Virtual Life
Release Date: Oct 26, 2010 (US)(more)
ESRB: TEEN
Hoster: Direct Link
unrar pass: mfgames.org

If you're tired of having your sims live the quiet life in suburbia surrounded by a white picket fence and nosy neighbors, then pack your bags and head to the bustling city of Bridgeport, the city that sleeps only in the wee hours of the morning. In The Sims 3's latest expansion pack, Late Night, your sim can stay up all night long and party until the sun rises. New locations, furniture, objects, and wishes are just some of the things that have been added, and we got our first look when we went down to EA in Redwood Shores.

In Late Night, a new grouping mechanic has been added, which makes it easier to go out for a night on the town with your sim friends. Wherever you go, they'll go too, that is, unless you're in a group of three, and two of your sims start to get cozy, and then the third wheel will eventually leave in a huff. Vampires have been on the scene since Sims 2: Nightlife, but now they've gotten a bit of a Twilight makeover. These bloodsucking (or in this case, plasma-fruit-sucking) demons are now sexier and are part of the most elite group in town, so you'll be compelled to be in their bloodthirsty presence. To get into one of the most exclusive clubs in town, the Plasma 501--a vampire haunt--you must befriend a fellow vamp or you'll be left waiting outside. These intoxicatingly good-looking vampires can read minds along with being able to dash from one end of the neighborhood to the other with little effort. The downside is that they don't like the daylight (obviously) and will start to smoke a bit and complain about the heat. If you find yourself drawn to these creatures of the night, know that by befriending a vampire you can eventually ask him or her to turn you, or if you happen to mate, there's a chance that you may end up with a vampire baby. Consider yourself warned: There's no going back.

Other places to visit include dive bars, which we got a chance to hang out in to see what it was like to moonlight as a bartender--and order wings and nachos during happy hour! Your skills as a mixologist (a new gig that has been added) go up over time, but in the beginning you'll fumble around with the drinks and break a few glasses. We were told that eventually you can even come up with your own concoctions by doing a supermarket run. Another way to make some cash is to start a band. You'll start off with playing gigs during the day, but once your band gets better, you'll be invited to play at better venues. Instruments such as a bass, a drum set, and a keyboard have been added so you can jam in a subway if you want to--although you do have to worry about getting mugged.

If you prefer to take a more traditional job approach and start from the bottom, there's a film career to pursue that allows you to branch off on different paths as an actor or a director. You'll earn different rewards at the end, such as a director's chair or your very own trailer where you can throw star tantrums.

Late Night is primarily about living that VIP lifestyle by boosting your celebrity status and getting to know the bouncers so they'll let you in on sight. A new lifetime wish could be to own a penthouse, which you can then deck out with a hot tub on the balcony and tons of swanky furniture. A couple of character traits have been added as well: your sim can be shy or have star quality, which makes your sim more likely to gain fame and hog all the attention. However, during our demo we noticed that your sim doesn't need to have that quality to get up and dance on a bar (apparently that particular sim had the insane trait).

Other objects that are worth mentioning include a bubble bar, which is similar to an oxygen bar, where your sim can sit and blow different-colored bubbles. An effects machine can be added to spruce up the atmosphere with snow, lasers, or confetti. For a more low-key type of setting, there are shuffleboards, arcades, and dart boards to keep your sims busy. Everything we saw at the bars can be used in your own home, so you can have your own cocktail bar in that penthouse suite you've been eyeing. The city of Bridgeport is quite big, with landmark buildings and plenty of towering high-rises. A red dot on the map will indicate which club is particularly happening that evening, so it's worth checking out what's hot that night to make the most of your evening. Another way to find out where the party is at is to gossip with your fellow sims or read the newspaper.

It looks like Late Night lets you experience what a Hollywood starlet likes to do in the evenings. Not only do you get to mingle with other socialites and wannabe aspiring actors, but to blend in better, you can add muscle definition to your sim as well as augment your sim's assets. Live the life of a celebrity when The Sims 3 Late Night arrives on October 26.

It's only been a couple months since the release of the first DeathSpank and we're lucky enough to already have a sequel. The Diablo-style action RPG from the mind of Ron Gilbert (Secret of Monkey Island) proved to be one of the most addictive games of the year, so a second visit from the Hero to the Downtrodden is quite welcome. DeathSpank: Thongs of Virtue is more of the same -- same gameplay, same music, same sense of humor. But that won't be a bad thing for anyone who enjoyed the first romp.

DeathSpank is a hero's hero; a champion so intent on doing good that he can't help but assist every last poor soul that crosses his path. From rich aristocrats to redneck hicks, everyone has a quest for DeathSpank and he cannot say "no." That's what these games are all about: running errand after errand after errand for people. One minute you're recovering stolen feminine products for a damsel in distress and the next you're convincing a drunken pirate to give up the keys to his pirate ship. I happen to love the formula and find myself compelled to complete every last quest and sidequest. Along the way you'll gain experience, level up, and collect hundreds and hundreds of weapons and items to equip.

Thongs of Virtue picks up a while after DeathSpank left off, with the hero having defeated who he thought was his arch nemesis -- only to learn there are others in the circle of evil that need be brought to justice. While this sequel does feel very much like the original and sends you on the same sorts of quests, you will be traveling to quite different locales. Gone are the mostly fantasy areas of DeathSpank. Here you'll be visiting battlefields that recall World War II, the Old West, and robot factories. You can play with a bunch of fun new weapons and battle new enemies.

The new ranged weapons are a significant improvement to your arsenal. I don't know about you, but I found the crossbows pretty ineffectual in the first game and ended up ignoring them. In Thongs of Virtue you have access to machine guns, bazookas, and lasers -- really fun stuff. They're effective at taking out enemies from a distance and provide many more strategic possibilities in battle. You also have a variety of explosives at your disposal such as poison and ice grenades.

Some of the sidequests are plucked straight from the first game. Remember the spelunker who was afraid to do his own spelunking and the Thongoloth researcher who wanted you to take readings for him? There is more of that business to do here. Even though I'd done this stuff before,I really didn't mind -- DeathSpank is just that much fun.

The first game allowed a second player to join in at any time and control DeathSpank's sidekick, Sparkles the Wizard. Sparkles is back in Thongs of Virtue, but a second secondary hero has also been added: Steve! Steve was raised by ninjas and rides a miniature unicorn, instantly making him one of the coolest videogame characters around. Unfortunately, two-player mode still leaves something to be desired as both players share a health bar and player two can't use any sweet loot. I prefer to do my DeathSpank questing on my own.

Don't worry if you haven't played the first game -- the episodes are self-contained and the storyline is ridiculous nonsense anyway. Handy in-game tutorials have been added that will explain the ins and outs of heroism as you make your way towards the fabled thongs. There is also a clever hint system where you find fortune cookies lying around that can be eaten for a nudge in the right direction.
